I watched Life of Pi tonight with my family. This is the second movie I’ve seen on cinema this year. And I must say, this is one of the best movies I’ve ever watched in my whole life! I’m not a racist or something but I really don’t watch movies with Indian people on it. It’s just that I can’t understand what they were saying. But with exceptions with this movie. The main actor’s an Indian yet I’m inlove with this film! I’ve learned and it inspired me a lot. It made me realize that God never leave us. He’s always behind us.

Piscine Molitor Patel was named after a swimming pool in France. He’s so tired of being teased by the name “Pissing Patel”, right then he started to called himself “Pi”. His father own a zoo. At the age of 14, he met God. He just love God, that’s why he embraced three religions: Hindu, Islam and Christian. His father decided to move to Canada with them. Although it’s hard for him, he’s got nothing else to do. They went onboard a Japanese cargo ship along with some animals they kept in the zoo. Unfortunately, they met a raging storm that caused the ship to sank and his family died. He’s the only one to survive in a small sailboat along with a hyena, zebra, orangutan named “Orange Juice” and a tiger named “Richard Parker”.

The hyena ate the zebra and the orangutan. Then he found out that Richard Parker was hiding under the tarpaulin and fed on the hyena. In 227 days, Pi and Richard Parker was just sailing on that sailboat in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. He tried his best to keep Richard Parker alive by catching fish for him to eat. He also tried to be close with him. One night, they met a storm again. Then he talked to God, he thank Him and said he was ready to die now. When he woke up the next morning, he was on a floating island where there were a lot of meerkats. He found a human tooth in a venus flytrap. He thought that it was a carnivorous island. The next morning, he decided to leave the island after he stocked some seaweeds and rootcrops on his sailboat.

They were brought by the wave in a shore. Richard Parker was in front of the jungle. Pi thought that Richard Parker was going to look back at him while he was laying down in the sand, but he did not. He just left and it broke his heart. Pi said that if wouldn’t because of Richard Parker, he wouldn’t survive. He treated him as his bestfriend. And some men found him and rescued him.

This movie was really really touching. I just hope every movie’s like this. He’s so compassionate. Just imagine, he always say “Sorry” whenever he’s killing a fish. And I remembered him saying “God has abandoned me. But He’s watching.” Which is true. God has plans for him. Just like when he woke up during the night their ship met a storm. And how he became close to Richard Parker and when he was brought to the floating island. And so did for everyone else! All we have to do is BELIEVE, TRUST and HAVE FAITH in Him. He’ll take care of the rest. Oh, and I did not mention how awesome the movie effects was! Super duper awesome! Two thumbs up for this. 
